**Arcady Hall is looking for Residential Assistants for 2026**

We are seeking to appoint seven, responsible Resident Assistants (RAs) to oversee student activities at Arcady Hall, which provides fully catered accommodation for 162 first year University of Canterbury (UC) students. You will make a positive contribution to residential life by leading and mentoring students, facilitating social activities, instilling a sense of community, and upholding the University's code of conduct as well as our Hall’s policies and values.

Being an RA is exciting, personally challenging, and highly rewarding. Not only will you get the chance to help first-year residents learn about university life, but you will also acquire many transferrable skills to add to your CV. The skills you learn and the experiences you undertake as an RA are excellent training for your future.

**Residential Assistant: Key Responsibilities**
- Assists residents with transition to university and hall life.
- Enforces university and hall rules and regulations.
- Remains on-site and available to residents while on-call.
- Assists in supervising residents and responding to complaints, reports, requests, and emergencies.
- Submits reports on infractions, violations, and safety issues.
- Undertakes regular resident welfare checks
- Promotes residence hall events.
- Informs residents about relevant campus and local activities.
- Facilitates resolution of disagreements between residents.
- Manages front desk out of hours and signs students and visitors in according to security protocols when on call.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Organizes and directs regular floor meetings with residents.
