**Community Pharmacy-based Acute Care Nurse/Paramedic**

Te Awakairangi Health Network has an opportunity focussed on triaging and/or delivering acute care in selected Hutt Valley community pharmacies, to complement our current General Practice and pharmacy services. The role(s) may include daytime and/or evening hours, Monday - Sunday.
Successful applicants will have clinical decision-making skills, critical thinking competencies, and an ability to accurately identify patient problems. Effective triaging means making ‘on-the-spot' decisions that ensure each patient receives access to care that aligns with their situation, while appropriately allocating resources.
Patient care is ethically, safely and effectively carried out in accordance with the principles of Te Tiriti ō Waitangi, standards of clinical competence and cultural competence.
Applicants must be registered with either the Nursing Council of NZ or Paramedic Council, have a current practising certificate and indemnity insurance. You must also be eligible to work in New Zealand.
**About you - your ideal skills & experience**
- Can work autonomously, while working alongside their pharmacist colleagues
- Must have patient-facing experience, preferably in acute care settings
- Confident to liaise and collaborate with other healthcare providers and clinical personnel to ensure appropriate patient outcomes
- Full vaccinator authorisation
- Has the ability to make rapid decisions across a diverse range of presenting complaints
- Has excellent communication skills
- Demonstrates an ability to conduct brief, focused assessments
- Can multi-task and prioritise care
