**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**
**Up to 1.0 FTE (80 hours per fortnight)**
An exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse/s interested in utilising their emerging nursing skills within Infection, Prevention and Control (IPC) to improve patient care, outcomes and experiences.
Currently, this position is a part of the Clinical Governance Support Unit team and will support the Infection Prevention and Control service.

**Moū - About you**
This position plays a key role in:
- Maximising infection prevention and control operational effectiveness at the interface.
- Ensuring legislative compliance.
- Enhancing infection prevention and control best practice.
- Providing advice and education to minimise infection risk
You will have the opportunity to:
- Effectively contribute to the ongoing review, updating, monitoring and evaluation of the DHB’s Infection Prevention & Control programme and policies.
- Undertake relevant infection prevention and control surveillance
- Provide infection prevention and control advice and education.
- Prevent and control outbreaks of infection.
You will ideally have the following skills and education:
- Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Nursing Council practicing Certificate.
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent training and experience in infection prevention and control is preferred.
- Certified Hand Hygiene NZ Gold Auditor
We are also open to applicants who may not meet all of the above criteria but are wanting to start their journey with us in this ever-developing field of expertise and are willing to upskill/ undertake specialised qualifications in this field.
