**About the Role**
We have an opportunity available to join our Te Waipounamu regional team as a **Manager** **Community and Whānau Wellbeing**. This is a permanent, full-time role with the primary purpose to achieve improved public health outcomes by leading teams of multi-skilled professional promotion, prevention and public health nursing kaimahi in a new way of working that puts whānau at the centre and is aligned with and will deliver Pae Ora.
This role will see you providing leadership in driving a culture of permission giving, connection, continuous improvement and strong partnership with communities and partners.
**About the Team/Service/ Location**
The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
**About you**
You are an experienced leader able to nurture and develop a team to make them feel valued. You're open to new ideas and create a culture where individuals at all levels bring their ideas on how to ‘do it better' to the table. You're able to work collaboratively across the sector and organisational boundaries to influence contributions to better outcomes for our whānau and communities.
**Skills and Experience**
- A bachelor's degree, ideally clinical, in relevant field or comparable experience working at a senior leadership level
- Proven experience in public health leadership and leading Māori and/or Pacific teams
- 5+ years' experience in varied environments with responsibilities for achieving equitable health outcomes and responsiveness to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Established relationships with iwi/hapū and/or Pacific communities and leaders
- Demonstrated mature communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write and present in a clear, persuasive, and impactful way, to influence others to embrace change, and to develop, unify and maintain strong internal and external relationships essential for achieving sustainable outcomes
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
