**The Opportunity**

Te Uru Arotau/Acute & Elective Specialist Services has an exciting
**senior nursing opportunity **in the Associate Director of Nursing (ADON)/Operations Lead, Medical Wards, Unplanned Care.

This is a permanent, full-time role.

The ADON/Operations Lead, Medical Wards, role is an
**integral part of the Te Uru Arotau leadership team **providing professional and practice support to frontline nursing leaders and staff which supports them to thrive and deliver services in an integrated way. This includes having a “whole of system” approach to ensuring excellence in nursing practice and professional standards.

The ADON/Operations Lead, Medical Wards - Te Uru Arotau will focus on growing and developing front-line nursing leadership, devolving decision-making, actively supporting leadership capability improvements, and enabling clinicians and teams within the service and across the cluster to make good decisions as close to the patient/client as possible.

The role is responsible for leading and contributing to a programme of transformational change and the integration of services across Te Uru Arotau.

There is a requirement to participate in the MidCentral senior management on call roster and to act for senior leaderships as required.
