The Arts Centre of Christchurch Te Matatiki Toi Ora is the most significant cluster of Category 1 heritage buildings in New Zealand. Gifted to the city by the University of Canterbury to become a thriving hub of creativity, the 2011 earthquakes saw 22 of the 23 buildings close.

With restoration almost completed and its future financially secured, the focus will soon shift from reconstruction to being once again a hub for diverse creative expression and entrepreneurship in the heart of Ōtautahi Christchurch. Our vision is to be a centre of the arts - stimulating and celebrating our diverse communities by restoring memories and creating futures

Due to planned succession arising from retiring trustees two vacancies now exist.

The Arts Centre Board aims to appoint Trustees to complement and augment the existing team and are seeking persons with the following attributes:

- Prior experience working at a governance level
- Sound commercial/business acumen
- A willingness to work strategically and collaboratively to achieve the vision
- Strong personal, professional and community networks and connections.

Skills are sought in one or more of the following areas:

- Legal
- Te Ao Māori
- Strategy and Risk.

Experience or governance in the Arts sector across a range of Art forms would be an advantage.
