Live Life Disability Support provide support
to over 250 people, who have disabilities, to achieve their personal
aspirations and choices in a variety of residential and respite settings across
the Nelson/Tasman and Marlborough regions. We are a
community-based disability support service focused on quality-of-life outcomes
and the Enabling Good Lives Principles.
We support each person to manage their day
to day lives in ways and at times that work for them. This could be anything
from personal care, behaviour support to living the life in the community. The people we support have a wide range of
abilities and we focus on enabling good lives by being inclusive and actively
encouraging family and whanau input.
Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)
We are looking to appoint a Team Leader to join
our existing team in our
new purpose-built, modern respite home in central Blenheim. You will work
closely with whanau and local community organisations and professional agencies
to provide short, medium, or emergency respite for children with unique and
special needs. From harnessing your sensitive and attentive supporting style
for children with physical and medical needs, to organising and often participating
in a group evening activity or school holiday programme that inspires and
creates great memories. You will always
be role modelling best practice, whilst ensuring fun, engaging and
fit-for-purpose care for our all too often marginalised tamariki.
You will be involved with ongoing service
development that will allow you to use your expertise and skills. You will be an integral part of the team, providing
support and leadership, as well as pro-active
day-to-day support to enable the people you support to live safely and be
actively involved in their community.
While
your roster will usually be weekdays, we work with flexibility over 7 days
including evening and weekend work as required.
Our goal is to center the needs of the child and their whanau, requiring
lots of communication, planning and flexibility. We are non-judgmental,
reflective, and trauma informed always, and we embed the Enabling Good Lives
principles into the important mahi that we do.
The salary for this position is $58,760 plus an annual one house allowance of $5,000.
Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)
You will have inspiring leadership skills and a strong commitment to the
principles of person-centred support. You will also hold a minimum NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing
(Level 4), or an equivalent health or disability related qualification as
assessed by the Ministry of Health (see
link below) and will have a sound knowledge of Person-Centred support as
well as good time management skills. Experience working in the field of
disability and/or Social
services would be advantageous.
This role is classified by
Immigration as ANZSCO 423111 and applicants for this position must be eligible
to work in New Zealand.
