**Te Whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity
- Asset Manager -Ferry/Rail**

This role is the AT corporate expert and custodian of Auckland Transport's rapidly growing ferry and rail fleet asset portfolio.

It will develop, implement strategic asset management disciplines and practices to the maintenance, operation and renewal of AT's rolling stock (including stabling facilities and infrastructure) and ferry fleets (including shore side charging infrastructure).

**Key Tasks include**:

- Strategic oversight of the performance and condition of the AT owned rail infrastructure (rolling stock, stabling and workshop facilities) and ferry infrastructure (ferries, & charging related infrastructure).
- Interpreting and converting AT's strategic Asset Management objectives into the discrete asset management activities enable the strategic objective to be achieved.
- Developing the future funding requirements to support the rail and ferry infrastructure (as defined above).
- Developing or reviewing, in conjunction with others, the planned renewals forward works programmes across a rolling, 3, 10 and 30 year cycle.
- Expert input into policy or systems design and development to support corporate objectives.
- Supporting and advising AT senior management and business unit teams to improve the sophistication and maturity of asset management practices in general and rail and ferry specifically.

- 4-year (honours level) bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, technology, infrastructure systems or science.
- Chartered or Professional Member of relevant professional institution
- Minimum 15 years' experience in an operations, engineering or asset management role with a rail and /or ship/ferry owning organisation.
- 10 years'+ senior asset management experience
