**The job**:
Your apprenticeship will start with learning essential tasks like pre-start checks, health and safety protocols, contamination control, and administrative duties. As you progress and develop your skills, you'll assume more responsibilities, including servicing, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work. This comprehensive learning experience will prepare you for a successful career in the heavy diesel industry.

**Minimum requirements**:

- You must be either a NZ citizen or permanent resident.
- Have a minimum of 4 years secondary schooling with NCEA Level 2.
- A passion for heavy machinery and equipment with an ability to grasp and understand new technology as it applies to the role of a heavy diesel technician.
- Hold your full Driver’s Licence or can do so by January 2025.

Our Apprenticeship Programme commences early January with a two-week induction programme in Christchurch. Following this, you will return to your branch where you will work alongside our highly skilled technicians before ‘crossing the ditch’ in early March to begin the first of your block training courses
- a 2 week block and then a 5 week block.
