Our core purpose is to empower the energy future for New Zealand - a future that delivers a net-zero carbon economy and a reliable and secure electricity system.

As the owner and operator of New Zealand's electricity transmission grid, we provide a critical service, including seeking to understand how the grid can deliver the cost-effective level of service expected of customers, while accommodating the growing demand for renewable electricity through electrification of industry and transport.

**About the team**

Transpower's Grid Development division works to identify grid needs for the next 30 years. We undertake critical activities to inform investments that ensure the grid is safe, reliable and resilient, and that these investments are integrated with wider system plans.

Our Strategy Performance and Risk group develops our asset management system, including our grid strategies, risk, and resilience information. The team also reports on grid performance, manages asset and system information, and models asset health and criticality.

Our newly created Resilience and Adaptation team of four is responsible for the risk and resilience information, frameworks to support resilience and adaptation within the asset management system and provides risk and resilience reporting.

**The opportunity - super interesting work**

You'll work collaboratively to improve our risk and resilience information and modelling including working with researchers to acquire new data.

You'll deliver data analysis and modelling to enable risk-based decisions to be made across the Grid business and improve Transpower's understanding of its vulnerability to Major Hazard events and the impacts of those events. You'll provide climate related and non-climate related reporting of risk and support initiatives within the Transpower adaptation plan.

Ultimately, you'll grow your skills as both an Analyst and Asset and Risk Management professional through broadening and deepening your appreciation of infrastructure resilience, climate adaptation, and resilience modelling for over $5b of assets that are critical infrastructure for Aotearoa.

**What will you bring?**

You'll enjoy utilising your experience in data and analytics to inform decision making and your astute analytical and communication skills. In this role you'll also have an opportunity to grow your facilitation ability, with support from a Senior Risk Advisor.

**To be shortlisted your CV, cover letter and career to date will demonstrate**:

- Sound analytical skills and the ability to interrogate and structure data sets
- Understanding or experience of Asset or Risk Management and how data informs decision making
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and improve information for internal customers
- Well-developed verbal and written communication with proven ability to establish strong working relationships with other teams
- Experience using platforms such as PowerBI, Python, and other analytics and data management software.
