The Technical Writer role sits in the Curriculum and Assessment Change Programme which is a key unit within Te Poutāhū Curriculum Centre. The Programme works in partnership with other Te Poutāhū business units to enable the products and outcomes delivered from these projects to move into the business for ongoing delivery, maintenance, and support.
**About you | Mōhou ake**
We are looking for someone with experience in a complex organisation, a background in technical writing, excellent te reo Māori speaking, reading and writing skills, and experience in building relationships and partnerships. Knowledge of the education sector is helpful, along with experience in working in projects and for the government.
To be successful in the role you will have the ability to understand and accurately translate technical information for a general audience, be fluent in te reo Māori, be proficient in the use of MS Office products such as Word and SharePoint, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and proven ability to manage and deliver on work priorities.
You will also have:
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with people both internally and outside the Ministry is essential.
- Understanding of The New Zealand Curriculum, Te Marautanga o Aotearoa, and Te Whāriki
- Sound knowledge of government and public sector processes
- Experience in working on projects, and effective engagement strategies
- The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
The Curriculum and Assessment Change Programme team are highly collaborative, working together both in person and online to produce high quality curriculum and assessment products.
**About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake**
The Technical Writers work collaboratively within the Curriculum and Assessment Change Programme to assist with the development of the refreshed National Curriculum. The wider team consists of highly experienced education professionals with a range of specialisations. The working environment is hybrid with the opportunity to work from home up to twice a week.
**The Curriculum and Assessment Change Programme**combines the programme expertise needed to manage the programmes effectively with the deep education expertise to deliver high-quality curriculum updates. This team sits within Te Poutāhū | the Curriculum Centre.
