The Role TRT are offering an excellent opportunity for you to be employed by our long-standing and successful company as an Engineering Design Manger. We are looking for a creative and forward thinking person with strong leadership skills to manage our team of phenomenal Design Engineers.

Key management position requirements:

- Strong and effective communicator on all levels
- Have a sound working knowledge of Solidworks and AutoCad
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office based products including Excel
- An understanding of the ISO 9001:2015 quality system
- Ensure all designs are created using proven engineering practices
- Ensure all products designed fully comply with all safety, industry and legislation standards
- Take an active role in staff recruiting, inductions and training
- Provide engineering technical support and approval to the manufacturing team
- Heavy transport design / engineering experience is preferable with a working knowledge of NZTA legislative requirements
- Ensure all TRT manufactured products meet NZ and Australia compliance standards and regulations

What do you need to be successful?
- Specialised degree in design or engineering and or prior work experience in this field
- Clean NZ driver’s license
- Be committed and motivated to completing work in an accurate and timely manner
- Be meticulous
- Be a positive ‘team player’ who also looks for ways to improve
- Have a good level of accuracy
- Strong awareness of conducting all activities and tasks with safety in mind
- Be physically fit to move a range of parts on a daily basis
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Ability to work in a team environment
