This role is a full-time role and we are looking for someone who can commit to this role long-term.

**Key Qualities we are looking for in an employee**:

- Current, clean drivers license.
- A can-do & want to do attitude.
- Confident in leading a team.
- A great attitude & adaptable mindset.
- Trade experience in New Zealand.
- Knowledge of building code & regulations.
- Able to work unsupervised and solve problems using initiative.
- Honest and trustworthy.
- Complete tasks to the highest standard and within timeframes.
- Confident communication skills to work alongside teammates, client, other trades & organizations.
- Experience in residential builds.

**Our apprentices need to be enrolled in a trade qualification similar to or in fact BCITO to be employed as an Apprentice with Ferguson Builders Ltd.**

**This role includes and is not limited to the following responsibilities**:

- Carry out all work as instructed by the Foreman.
- Ensure that your tools are kept maintained in good working order so you can produce high quality work.
- Demonstrate ability to learn the skill using all tools.
- Make sure the site is a safe site at all times by adhering to the Ferguson Builders Ltd Health and Safety Policies (HazardCo & SiteSafe) and wearing correct personal protective clothing and equipment.
- Work with the foreman/manager of any health and safety concerns immediately.
- Actively participate in all toolbox or team meetings, induct new visitors to site.
- Measure and cut materials to the right size and shape to minimise wastage.
- Be willing to listen and learn from those skilled teammates on site who may have more knowledge and experience in the task at hand.
- Strive to complete work adequately the first time so as to eliminate the need for any rework.
- Stride towards producing high quality work in appropriate time frames at all times.
- Have fun, enjoy and be proud of what you achieve in your working day.
