**Job Description**:
We are seeking a passionate Head of Retail Environment to join TWG and play a key role in delivering the performance and return on our footprint across 3 of our key brands - The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery and Noel Leeming.

This role is two-fold. Sitting within the Store and Sales Operations chapter area (and reporting into the respective Chapter Area Lead), your time will be split between delivering on footprint performance goals and customer environment and people management.

As the Retail Environment Lead, you will have the opportunity to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative solutions that elevate the in-store experience and drive sales and profitability growth. The people management aspects will see you facilitate capability growth, consistency and allocation of resources within your chapter (circa 5 -10 Chapter Members). This is where you will draw on your coaching skillset by tuning into the team, empowering them and leading by example - ultimately seeing the collective do well.

You will be responsible for defining and delivering on the store format strategy, including both existing and new stores throughout NZ ensuring our stores remain relevant and innovative in a rapidly evolving retail landscape. As we are embarking on an ambitious program to reinvent and rejuvenate a number of Warehouse stores throughout the country, the projects will vary from small tweaks to existing stores, supporting specific project planning to laying out brand new stores while adopting new and exciting customer journey theories as defined by the wider Retail Environment and Insight teams.

Your Role:

- Leading the Retail Design team from a coaching, mentoring & developing talent perspective
- Leading the adoption, usage and development of design methods and tools to drive better format outcomes
- Building of long-term format strategy to drive experience, business strategy and increase return on capital and footprint
- Improving the customer environment & experience via store design
- Planning & designing new retail layouts based on merchandise requirements & ideal customer journeys
- Designing customer centric fixtures to maximise space, product profitability & customer engagement

**Qualifications**:
Your excellent communication and relationship management skills will put you in good stead, as this role will see you work cross functionally with a range of internal stakeholders at all levels. Equally important is your ability to develop, empower and nurture your team to drive engagement and best practice. Your passion and drive to share knowledge and raise the bar will be infectious. Living and breathing Agile attributes such as servant leadership, collaboration and a growth mindset will come naturally to you.

Our wish list also includes:

- A tertiary level design or draughting qualification, or equivalent practical work experience
- Retail design experience using SketchUp, REVIT and or AutoCAD (Architecture), with a thorough understanding of documentation standards
- Basic familiarity with local building construction and code requirements in Retail
