Based
at our new office at Walker street, the Trans Alpine Risk & Security Team
provides IT and Risk management support to both the Waitaha (Canterbury) and Te Tai o Poutini (West Coast) districts
of Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand. We are a small team made up of two Cyber
Security Engineers, a Cyber Security Analyst and a Cyber Security Operations
Specialist. Reporting to the Risk & Security Manager, this position will
play a key part in making sure our kaimahi (staff) are protected by any security threats
and up to date with the latest system enhancements.
We
are an open and inclusive kapa (team) and believe in a consensus approach to I.T.
issues. This is a Monday to Friday role, but you will be required to work out
of hours if there is an urgent incident.
The
Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for working with the ISG kapa (team) to maintain
and improve security across all Information and Communication Technology [ICT]
solutions whilst maintaining the development and delivery of the ISG work plan
and service excellence.
In
assuming this responsibility, the role enables the Cybersecurity Engineer to be
an effective and valued partner of the business and tautoko (supports) the business to
achieve its goals. This role requires 3 - 5 years - experience in Security
Engineer role or a Systems role with proven security experience and a total of
6-9 years of experience in system administration/engineering.

A tertiary level qualification - Bachelor - s Degree in Software Development, Computing Systems, Information Services, Science, Engineering or related field is essential with a post graduate qualification and Public Cloud Certification(s) highly desirable.

- intermediate level or above skills in:

- Any one of C#, Python, Go or NodeJS
- Developing, deploying or maintaining

bots
- Automation of tasks in Active Directory
Domain Services
- Serverless functions on public clouds
- Microsoft System Centre Orchestrator or
similar
- Azure Sentinel, Keyvault, Defender for
Identity and Defender for Endpoint
- Certificates and principles of
encryption and cryptography
- Terraform and other code as
infrastructure tools
- Security tools such as Nessus, Burp
