- About the Role
We - re looking for a new or recently qualified Optometrist who is
looking to work within a hospital environment to join our team on a permanent
basis. In this role you would be 1 of 3 Optometrists in our service. As part of
this role you will provide visual and fundal examinations, and paediatric refractions
alongside our Orthoptic team, as well as a working with a team of registrars
and consultant Ophthalmologists specialising in Paediatrics, Glaucoma,
Diabetes, Cataract, and Vitreoretinal conditions.

In this role, you
**will be responsible for**:
- The
assessment, treatment, management and monitoring of paediatric patients alongside
our Orthoptist team
- The
postoperative cataract assessments for 1-month postoperative care
- Retinal
assessment and grading for patients enrolled within the Diabetic Retinal
Photographic Screening Service, once appropriate training and competency
completed

- The
ability to build strong relationships with the immediate team of
Optometrists, Orthoptists and the MDT, as well as external agencies;
- The
ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a wider
multidisciplinary team, including working closely with our Ophthalmic
technicians and Nursing team;
- Current
NZ Annual Practicing Certificate;You will be
committed to delivering quality services and committed to professional
development that is aimed at delivering innovative, patient centre care.
