**The role**

Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer you will be responsible for nourishing, leveraging and protecting the reputation of the AA and its businesses - both on and off line, internally and externally. The role encompasses all forms of communications, strategic, executive, issues and crisis management as well as proactive public and media relations. It requires careful judgement and balancing of member interests with the commercial interests and target markets of our businesses whilst fully utilising media networks and communications.

Your recognised expertise, self-drive and knowledge will enable you to establish trust and build collaborative relationships with the CEO, senior executives, managers and internal and external stakeholders.

**Responsibilities**

Key responsibilities include:

- Develop corporate relations strategies and plans to protect and enhance our Brand reputation
- Use your network of contacts to develop proactive Media PR exposure
- Lead the corporate relations team, developing their capabilities and provide them with direction and support
- Advise and support the CEO and senior executives on corporate messaging and communications
- Work with wider stakeholder teams to ensure consistency between the corporate message and the advertising message in our direct and digital communications
- Provide input on marketing campaigns and collateral
- Own and lead the crisis communication process including the outcomes, policies and guidelines
- Develop our internal communications strategy and outreach that can reach all our frontline employees.
- Create and execute an Association-wide social media strategy and set up processes for managing its use and report performance and success

You will be expected to roll your sleeves up, prepare press releases, be a key spokesperson on major corporate issues and put your exceptional research skills to good use. Your messages and style will be modern, innovative, and well targeted to different channels and audiences.

**Your background**

You have strong corporate relations experience, at least 10 years backed by a degree in communications, PR or journalism. You will have expertise in fronting and working with media, on and off screen, and in schooling others to do the same.
