**Exciting new opportunity to be the Digital Lifestyle Producer in our Digital news team, you will work with news magazine and news talk shows to produce compelling digital content.**

**The opportunity - Te tūranga**

You'll work closely with the executive producers of Breakfast, Seven Sharp and Fair Go, as well as their teams. You'll report to the Executive Producer, 1News.co.nz, and work closely with his team, particularly the Digital News Editor and Daily News Editor. You'll also work with the Social Media team and the Digital Current Affairs producer.
- Come up with ideas for making the most compelling digital content from stories our news magazine and news talk shows are producing.
- Produce content for the digital audience by writing up stories yourself, editing other journalists' copy, and, at times, by planning videos or executing the roll out of a series.
- Ensure content appeals to the widest possible audience by writing punchy headlines, organising great images, graphics, videos, social media treatments or anything needed to make the stories fly.
- Monitor audience metrics and use these in deciding future story treatments.
- Act as a liaison between news magazine and news talk shows and the digital news and content teams, keeping everyone in the loop and on the same page

**What we're looking for - Tā mātou e kimi nei**
- A strong journalist or editor, with a love for lifestyle stories and lighter, quirkier content
- You will be a solid editor, able to support people to think through an idea and then write compelling, concise copy. When it's all gone wrong, you'll know how to save a piece by restructuring, re-writing or cutting.
- Strong editorial standards and a solid understanding of media law
- A good understanding of digital news, digital audiences and digital metrics
- You will enjoy working with others and feel comfortable giving direction and feedback to journalists
- Be an outstanding team player, willing to contribute your ideas and knowledge
