**Full time position to be split in equal parts teaching, choreographing, administration and promotional tasks**

**Reporting to Viva Dance Director / 2iC**

**Duties for the role include but are not limited to**
- Manage Viva Dance Kids/Teens Department
- Organise the Viva kids and teens department timetable including term classes, holiday programs and other regular kids events
- Teach group classes for kids in Latin styles on a regular weekly basis
- Source and mentor kids and teens instructors for non-Latin dance styles
- Create and implement an in-house mentorship and coaching programme to develop a pathway for teens to take on responsibilities assisting and teaching younger students
- Introduce dance for special needs kids
- Organise performance opportunities for Viva kids students
- Run events & shows for Viva Kids including securing venues, creative direction, production and front of house management
- Teach kids birthday parties and school trip bookings
- Marketing promotion of classes including management of online content, social media and production of promotional videos for classes
- Develop and administer Viva Dance Kids/Teens website presence as its own entity on the Viva Dance website

**Requirements**:

- Professional dancer and instructor specialising in dance for children
- 2 or more years dance teaching experience
- Professional dance qualification
- Certification in dance for special needs kids
- Experience in online social media promotion as well as content/client management systems
- Personable, approachable & friendly personality
- Can-do attitude, ability to work independently and manage stress
- Excellent organizational skill

**Benefits**

$44,000 per annum.(based on 30 hours per week)

Viva Dance is one of the largest Dance Schools in Auckland and runs classes in a wide variety of dance styles as well as national and regional events like the NZ Salsa Congress and the NZ Salsa Open.

As part of the Viva Dance team you will get experience in the day to day running of a successful and growing business and be given responsibility for managing your own projects.

All our staff members including our contractors take an active role in helping to create the community feeling that Viva Dance is known for.

As a member of staff you can attend any of our classes for free as well as participate in our events.
