**About the Role**

The PAR role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse who wants to grow their leadership, work autonomously, and be part of a supportive team driving innovation and excellence in patient safety. This advanced practice role focuses on identifying, assessing, and supporting patients at risk of acute deterioration, ensuring timely and coordinated care across the healthcare continuum. Working in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, this position plays a crucial leadership role, promoting clinical excellence, mentoring nursing staff, and leading quality improvement initiatives. It's an ideal position for nurses who thrive in acute settings, are passionate about elevating patient care standards, and are driven by evidence-based practice and critical thinking.

As a nurse in the PAR team, you'll join a growing service that is evolving towards providing 24/7 hospital-wide coverage. This permanent position is up to 1.0FTE (to be negotiated), working rostered rotating shifts.

**About you**

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
- Minimum of seven years clinical experience + experience working in the acute care setting/critical care services (e.g. ED, ICU, CCU)
- Post graduate qualification or working towards this
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team to support coordinated patient care.
- Familiarity with early warning score systems and clinical escalation protocols.
- Experience in providing patient and whānau-centered care, with a strong equity and cultural safety focus.

- Advanced clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and role-modelling capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise across disciplines and support staff education.
- Ability to teach, coach, and support nursing staff in real-time clinical situations.
- High level of initiative and autonomy in managing complex and evolving clinical situations.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
- Confidence in using data to inform practice and drive improvement.
