**Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi - About the Role**

As Principal Academic Staff Member (PASM), you will provide professional leadership and oversight of teaching staff and will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of Postgraduate programmes. You will ensure they meet the outcomes contained within the programme documents and meet or exceeds student and industry expectations.

The position requires the incumbent to:

- Assist the Head of Department and other departmental Managers in planning as required.
- Manage the day-to-day activities required to deliver the strategic and operational objectives in respect of academic components and matters of programmes offered in the department.
- Have a research portfolio and lead research teams to produce research outputs within the department.
- Assist in the planning of learner experiences, staff workload and resource allocation.
- Assist the departmental leadership team to assure academic quality, compliance and to develop capability.
- Commitment to support initiatives aimed at raising achievement of Māori and underserved communities.

**Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako - Skills and Experience**
- Highly developed leadership and team-building skills.
- Have a doctorate degree with research experience.
- Active APC with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
- A research portfolio and the ability to contribute to research outputs.
- Teaching and Learning qualifications and significant teaching experience, especially in adult education and tertiary settings.
- Proven ability to foster productive relationships within the health sector and other external stakeholders.
- Highly developed time management skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently administer, organise and coordinate activities, and meet deadlines.
- Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in a range of situations e.g., with students, staff, academic peers, and professional groups.
- Demonstrate practice in successfully engaging with communities from diverse backgrounds and identities, in particular Māori, Pasifika, Youth, International and people with disabilities.
- Engagement with assessment and feedback processes.
- Digital literacy including - competence using a computer (including Microsoft office products)
