**Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team**
Our Intensive Care Unit provides tertiary (advanced) level Intensive Care for a million people in central New Zealand living in the upper south & lower north island, covering a geographic radius of 300 kilometres. We support seven public hospitals that have Intensive Care Units. To support the region we run a busy Flight Retrieval Service with the capability to provide Intensive Care-level retrievals around the clock.
We have 24 beds in our unit and care for a wide range of elective and acute patients.
**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**
We are seeking a permanent Health Care Assistant with the option of working 8 hour shifts to join our team in the Intensive Care Services. The hours of work for this position are 28 hours or more per week, rostered and rotating, currently no night shifts. The aim of this position is to provide assistance to the health care team, by focusing on the patient’s comfort and performing delegated patient care duties, including personal cares and service activities. Ideally having Level 3 NZQA Qualification or being prepared to work towards it while you are employed here. We are looking for someone with well-developed organisational and interpersonal skills. Previous experience of working within a hospital setting would be desirable however we are open to provide the training that is required.
