Te Takinatanga - Our Story
Kāinga Ora is on a journey with our Place-based groups to ensure we are putting people at the heart of everything we do.
We are increasing our leadership roles to ensure our people are well supported in their role, and we have the ability to create strategic relationships with agencies and social service providers to help our customers strengthen their wellbeing.
For our customers, we will provide a more holistic and personalised service to address both whānau housing and personal support needs - and respond to those needs. Recognising the links between housing and whole of life outcomes.
Our Place-based groups
Place-based groups are responsible for building customer and community relationships on behalf of Kāinga Ora in their defined geographic area, undertaking or overseeing service delivery to those customers and communities, and integrating activities around regional investment plans based on community and government priorities.
Our groups will support our urban development and construction activity by identifying and undertaking the early stage development of opportunities to partner for, enable and deliver public, affordable and supported housing.
As a public housing landlord we are doing more to help New Zealanders. We support customers to live well with dignity, stability, in connected communities, empowering them to live stable lives and reach their aspirations. We have created additional roles to deliver more for our customers and support our new services and ways of working. Ensuring that the roles also align to our target people outcomes: connected to our purpose, supported to succeed, empowered and thriving, a sense of belonging.
Ngā mahi - What you'll do
Based in our Christchurch office, the Manager Regional Placement will lead all Placement and transfer functions and teams within the Region to ensure our public housing customers and whānau receive a suitable, sustainable and timely placement.
Working collaboratively across Place Based, Construction and Innovation and Urban, Planning and Design, the Manager Regional Placement will help achieve positive outcomes for our current and future public housing customers in the region by leading our people to work 'better together' to provide effective and innovative placement and relocation solutions.
They will also lead engagement with key external stakeholders, including service providers, government agencies and community groups to build strong collaborative relationships to enable delivery of effective support to our public housing customers.
Ngā haepapa - What you'll be responsible for
**Our Manager Regional Placement will**:
- Deliver on the Leadership Attributes of the role to lead and build a high performing and collaborative public housing placement and relocation teams
- Ensure all members of the team are aware of and act in accordance with Kāinga Ora's legislated operating principles
- Deliver a nationally consistent approach to placement and relocation
- Contribute to Regional Strategic planning and stakeholder engagement plans ensuring there is 'one Kāinga Ora' voice
- Provide strategic leadership for the Regional Placement Team, ensuring alignment to Kāinga Ora values, strategic objectives and public housing customer outcomes. Monitor progress against financial and area planning
- Effectively manage team culture and dynamics
