This is an outstanding leadership opportunity for a talented and experienced editorial leader to work for NZ’s most trusted news service. Leading the news and current affairs teams you will advance RNZ’s editorial independence, developing strategies for gathering news and stories that contribute to strategic goals of audience growth and diversity across all platforms, with a passion for digital.

With your leadership, news and current affairs background you will contribute to audience growth, engagement and loyalty by delivering timely, authoritative and visually appealing journalism and bulletins.

In addition to audience growth and diversity, your key accountabilities will include:

- Being a collaborative and effective member of the RNZ Executive
- Leading and nurturing a talented team of managers and journalists across NZ
- Building and sustaining a high-performing and inclusive culture
- Working collaboratively to better integrate news with other parts of RNZ
- Ensuring change is well-planned and introduced collaboratively
