**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
This is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping and driving national level health and safety requirements for the Construction and Infrastructure Critical Risk Programme and other Critical Risk Programmes (as required).
The role:
- includes driving the development and implementation of national health and safety policies and procedures, including safety by design requirements, for Construction and Infrastructure Management, while collaborating with diverse stakeholders and fostering interdepartmental cooperation to ensure seamless execution and alignment to the overarching objectives of Te Whatu Ora
- oversees identification and risk mitigation initiatives and safety by design practices associated with health and safety for construction and infrastructure projects/activities within Te Whatu Ora, while driving innovation, technology integration and optimising resource allocation at a national scale to maximise efficiency and impact across Te Whatu Ora
- Leads the health and safety programme for construction and infrastructure projects/activities
- holds accountability for recommending key performance indicators and providing management systems for achieving the healthy and safe management of construction and infrastructure projects/activities at a national level for Te Whatu Ora.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Experience leading health and safety programmes in construction and infrastructure projects/activities; an environment that demands intricate problem-solving and critical thinking and accountability for recommending key performance indicators and providing management systems for achieving the healthy and safe management of construction and infrastructure projects/activities at a national level for Te Whatu Ora.
- Experience in programme and/or project management in a large organisation.
- Experience in a large organisation developing, implementing, managing, and reporting on programme effectiveness and progress against objectives, outcomes, and outputs in:
- Safety by Design
- HAZOP Management Frameworks
- national construction and infrastructure management Framework.
- Experience managing Health & Safety risks in a large organisation including
- previous risk analysis experience. This includes developing and implementing Critical Control Management Plans, and the assessment, monitoring, and reporting on Critical Control effectiveness.
- Responsibility at a leadership level for developing, maintaining, and influencing mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships.
- Budgeting and resource management for large-scale national programmes.
