**Job title/Position: Product Design Engineer**

Tech Mahindra is on the hunt for **three** Product Design Engineers to join their technical team based out of **Auckland,** New Zealand for full time employment to work in collaboration with our offshore team in designing and development of refrigerator components as per client requirement/standards.

Product Design Engineers at Tech Mahindra will be required to perform the following key roles & responsibilities:

- Design and development of Home appliance (Refrigerator components as per requirement/standards) Appliance components as per requirement/standards
- Develop detailed implementation plans and execute as per plan
- Work on design alternatives which involves building prototype to prove feasibility of design, testing and validation of the concepts
- Work closely with the procurement and sourcing departments in arranging the parts on time for the builds
- Cost-out parts through DFMA (Design for manufacturing & assembly)
- Conduct testing as per the Verification Plan and share the results with verification lead
- Review and provide feedback on the parts/assembly fit & function
- Review deliveries from offshore teams and perform quality check before handing over to the final customer
- Provide monthly reports on the progress, issues & action plans to the project management

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a relevant tertiary qualification and must demonstrate knowledge and experience with design and development of home appliances, development of new concepts and detailed engineering. Applicants with **at least 3** years of home appliance experience with the below skillsets will be preferred:

- Sound Knowledge on Product Design, Plastic & Sheet Metal part design
- Proficient in using design tools like DFMEA, Tolerance stack up, and Creo 4.0 onwards & Wind-chill PLM Tool
- DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DFA (Design for Assembly, DFMEA (Design for Failure Mode Effect Analysis), GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance)

**Salary**

The gross salary range for this position is between **NZD $60,000 to NZD $80,000 per annum over a 40-hour work week.** Other benefits include health and welfare insurance for you and your family.
