Join us as Graduate R&D Engineer and you’ll participate in R&D projects where innovation is not stifled by the fear of making mistakes, and experimentation is encouraged Reporting to R&D Manager, based out Napier; New Zealand, you will contribute in a wide area of technical functions, that could include power electronics, electrical, control, electronics.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Performing product design through the whole lifecycle from inception to full production
- Developing power electronics products from 100kW to 3MW
- Working in a cross functional team of hardware, control, electronics, mechanical engineers
- Performing circuit simulation, analysis and Protection design
- Component specification and selection e.g. capacitors, inductors
- Performing reliability engineering and ensuring international standards for product safety (CE & UL) are met
- Contributing to R&D projects with own, creative ideas
- Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business

**Your background**:

- Recent Graduate in Electrical engineering
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn
- A passion for power electronics related equipment
- Collaborative approach to working, demonstrating strong communication skills
