***The opportunity**:
We have **Part Time role** for Technical Assistant to join our Microbiology team. This is a great opportunity for a Science student wanting to work in a commercial laboratory. This is a fast paced role that primarily involves fitness, attention to detail and desire for quality as you aid the process of the Microbiology team. Your ability to lift, blend, weigh, store and dispose of samples, adhering to and following pre-determined specifications from a variety of customer sources will define the speed and accuracy of the tests as they are assigned to the team. This role will also provide the opportunity to aid the wider laboratory services, so is an ideal learning opportunity for a broader laboratory process. This role is based at our Auckland Food Laboratory in Lynfield.

**As a Technical Assistant, your key duties will include**:

- Prepping and weighing samples for testing
- Washing of glassware
- Disposal of waste and general cleaning around the laboratory
- Maintaining and delivering chemicals and consumable stock levels

**About you**:

- A passion for food safety and quality
- Experience working in a fast paced communicative environment
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure
- Good hand and eye co-ordination and be physically fit
- Pride in what you do, the quality of your work and a true team ethos

Our laboratory is open 7 days a week and flexibility to work overtime is ideal. The rosters on offer includes at least one weekend day.
