About the role
Information Requests are a vital service the Police provide to the New Zealand public, organisations and partner agencies releasing information about the work Police have done.
We have multiple vacancies available for File Management Support Officers (FMSO) who provide assistance to this workgroup. As a FMSO, you will work as part of a regional Information Request team responding to requests under the Official Information Act, Privacy Act, and Land Transport Act. Your key role is to collate information and provide responses to requests whilst ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines and legislation.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Research and Writing -collating and releasing information in compliance with legislation is the key function of this role. Excellent written communication skills are vital.
- Attention to detail - This is a busy role and being able to focus on the detail while under pressure is required.
- Relationship Management - you will work closely with partner agencies so the ability to manage those relationships is important.
- Teamwork - as a member of a distributed team, you will be able to work independently but be comfortable requesting assistance from and providing assistance to others.
- Change Management - This role has recently moved to the Service group so processes around ways of working is constantly evolving. Being comfortable and adaptable to change is recommended.

- Knowledge of OIA requests and relevant Acts are advantageous
- Show good level of computer literacy.
- Comfortable typing and navigating a computer database and programs.
- Working well in a team environment and will be able to ask questions and take direction.
- Good work ethic means you can be relied on to remain on task.
**Special Requirements**:
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo a full reference and security check prior to any offer of employment being made
- Applications must be able to undertake shift work as required
- The successful applicant must reside in Wellington or Kapiti, and work from the office.
- Must have Full Driver Licence
