- ** About the Role**

The Clinical Nurse Specialist within NPHS, provides specialist nursing care and expertise both in direct care delivery and in support to other staff in the management of a defined patient/consumer group/area of speciality practice. They work across the organisation within a clinical specialty acting in the roles of practitioner, educator, consultant, researcher, leader/change agent and care coordinator/case manager in the pursuit of clinical excellence and improved health outcomes.

The Ear Nurse Specialist is a part time permanent opportunity within the Te Manawa Taki regional team and is responsible for providing specialist nursing, expertise and leadership that ensures services to clients are provided in the most effective and efficient way. This is a mobile service which provides services for Rotorua.

The scope of client population is children within the community with complex ear health issues. To lead innovative practice within the population group. This will improve health outcomes for the population. Primarily this role is in the community as a mobile ear nurse. This role may, in the future, involve some work within the outpatient ORL department.

**About you**

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you'll be able to work collaboratively across the sector and organisational boundaries to influence the nursing contribution to better outcomes for our whānau and communities.
- A current RN Practicing Certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
- Expert level in Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP) and committed to maintain Expert/Senior PDRP
- Clinical Postgraduate Diploma is the required qualification however there is support to complete a master's qualification. The prerequisite postgraduate clinical courses to undertake a RN prescribing practicum for NCNZ authorisation in RN prescribing in primary health and specialty teams, provide essential clinical knowledge for the CNS Note: Service and nursing leadership approval is required to undertake the RN prescribing practicum.
- Current driver's license
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation and coaching skills
