METRO CIVIL & DEVELOPMENT LIMITED is looking for few Truck Drivers based in Auckland. To be successful in this role you will:

- Hold a relevant driver’s licence (either New Zealand Class 4 or 5 or an Overseas equivalent)

You may be performing the following duties but not limited to:

- Drive and operate trucks.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
- Document and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts. Keep a logbook of the hours you work.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions.
- To report any incidents, damage or accidents immediately to the authorized person.
- Attending to daily checking of the vehicle including oil, water, fuel, air pressure, safety concerns and equipment security, road user charge license, hub odometer readings etc.
- Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules.
- Weigh the truck before and after it is loaded.
- Supervise or help with loading and unloading the truck.
- Check the condition of the load and that it is secure
- Follow correct health and safety procedures.
- Keep records of, and check invoices for, things you carry.
- Follow accident procedures.
- Refuel and clean vehicle.
- Follow traffic laws.
- Picking-ups and making deliveries.
- Any other task assigned by employer.

Other information:

- You must have excellent communication skills
- You must be able to follow instructions
- This is a permanent role - minimum guaranteed hours per week is 30 hours. You may be required to work 30 or more hours per week.
- The minimum and maximum hourly rate is $29.66 per hour.
- You may be required to work in the weekend.

**Salary**: $29.66 per hour
