**The role**

Join us on an exciting journey with a ticket to success We are pleased to introduce a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Assistant Accountant to join our Planning Team and play a critical role in our organisation's success.

In this position, you will play a crucial role in crafting monthly management reports, diving into profitability analysis, and actively shaping the future through your contributions to budgeting and forecasting processes. But that's not all - be prepared to ride the wave of our transformation into an automation and AI-empowered Finance function. This position isn't just a job; it's an adventure offering opportunities to lead and engage in value-added projects, all while receiving support in your quest to attain a CA qualification.

**So, what's on your agenda?**
- Financial Analysis: Craft performance reports, identify key trends, and provide insightful commentary for decision-makers.
- Budgeting and Forecasting Support: Collaborate with the Planning Team, Divisional Finance, and Business Unit management to gather financial data, sculpt forecasts and budgets, and contribute your insights to decision-making processes.
- Process Improvement: Navigate the intricacies of business performance, systems, and processes, offering your recommendations to optimise financial processes and boost overall performance.
- Reporting Capabilities Enhancement: Flex your skills to expand reporting capabilities, focusing on interactive and self-service solutions for stakeholders to access and analyse financial information seamlessly.
- Project Support: Dive into various organisational projects, with a spotlight on automation and data enhancement initiatives. This includes implementing financial systems, streamlining processes, enhancing data quality, and contributing to the development of financial models.

**Are you someone who**:

- Solves problems with finesse, possesses analytical prowess, and has an eye for detail.
- Comes equipped with experience in accounting processes, familiarity with accounting packages, Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and Business Intelligence tools.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as team members.
- Committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and precision in your work.
- Thrives in changing situations, embracing opportunities to improve the status quo.
- Knows a thing or two about transport, logistics, or waste (although it's not a deal-breaker if you don't).
- Holds a tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce and is actively chasing that CA/CPA qualification dream.
