**About us**

Te Wānanga o Aotearoa (TWoA) is New Zealand’s second largest tertiary institution, and we’ve been providing transformational education opportunities to New Zealanders for nearly 40 years. Our vision of **‘Whānau transformation through education’** drives our commitment to being at the forefront of tertiary education underpinned by Māori culture and values.

Ko ngā uara (our values) are woven throughout the actions we take to achieve great outcomes for our tauira (students) and kaimahi (employees):

- ** Te Aroha**:Having regard for one another and those for whom we are responsible and to whom we are accountable.
- ** Te Whakapono**:The basis of our beliefs and the confidence that what we are doing is right.
- ** Ngā Ture**:The knowledge that our actions are morally and ethically right and that we are acting in an honourable manner.
- ** Kotahitanga**:Unity amongst iwi and other ethnicities; standing as one.

**About the role**

This is your opportunity to lead and contribute to the design, development and delivery of organisational leadership and management capability initiatives through a Te Ao Māori lens.

Our Kiriwhanake (People & Culture) team are transforming the way we deliver people and culture strategy and services across Aotearoa which has created several exciting new roles in our Culture & Capability team.

As **Specialist - Leadership & Talent Development** you’ll design and deliver critical programmes that will empower our managers with the management and leadership skills they need to achieve great outcomes through their people. We’ve already identified some key areas of focus, but you’ll get the chance to do your own assessment and make recommendations on what else needs attention.

**About you**

As a proven programme designer who understands how learning and development is best delivered, you’ll have a strong leadership philosophy and experience growing the cultural capability of others. The magic is in your ability to navigate human dynamics. You understand human nature, motivators, barriers, and emotions, and you know how to connect with others in an authentic way with the end goal of delivering experiences that create light bulb moments.

For this role, an HR qualification isn't absolutely essential, although a teaching qualification at diploma level or above is desirable. We're very keen to hear from you if you have experience in or a strong understanding of education and learning delivery in a kaupapa Māori environment.

If we’ve outlined a role that’s captured your imagination and speaks to your experience and capability, we'd love to hear from you

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable
