**Role**
As the Senior Power Electronics Engineer you will be responsible for the definition, creation and delivery of systems, sub-systems and components within their respective domain, from concept, through prototypes all the way to mass manufacturing and field service. The senior level Power Electronics Engineer you will have deep knowledge of High Power electronics, Power Circuit Topologies and Control systems (inverter, DC/DC, IGBTs, MOSFETs, vehicle communication networks including CANbus and associate protocols, signal conditioning and filter circuitry etc.).

This role will see you responsible but not limited to the following:

- Take requirements to design hardware with re-use in mind across multiple platforms and standardising components where feasible.
- Working closely with Senior Engineers, design, build, test and debug complex power electronics components and systems at power levels from 3kW to 500kW
- Assess EMC and certification requirements to assist the transition of product from prototype to certification stage.
- Work closely with compliance / certification team, remaining abreast of the latest developments in engineering and regulatory requirements including UL, CSA, IEC, IEEE, AS, CE
- Generation of documentation to support testing and certification activities.
- Assist design engineers with aspects relating to personnel safety circuitry, EMC filtering, and high voltage safety compliance.
- Assisting validation and test engineers with testing of prototypes to verify compliance.
- Collaborate and communicate with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding project progress, and task tracking.
- Develop innovative control algorithms for advanced power conversion products.
- Test and optimize the control systems for all use cases and safety considerations
- Control system firmware development and validation
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
- Analyse technology research at the early stages of new product development and assess for factor, fit for purpose as well as DFM & DFA requirements.
- Maintain an ongoing awareness of emerging technologies and competitor threats.
- Attend and actively participate in meetings as required. You will need to be able to provide relevant technical information, including relevant standards, identified issues, design constraints and design opportunities. Keep accurate notes to enable action of assigned tasks.
- Work as a team member by assisting other areas of the business when required or as directed by any member of Senior Leadership Team.

**Qualifications & Competencies**
- 10+ years of Electronic product design, development and analysis.
- Deep knowledge of High Power electronics, Power Circuit Topologies and Control systems (inverter, DC/DC, IGBTs, MOSFETs, vehicle communication networks including CANbus and associate protocols, signal conditioning and filter circuitry etc.).
- High Power Electronics experience - both at a circuit level and component level - Rectifier circuits, IGBT, MOSFET, Barrier diodes, power conversion devices - magnetics, inductors, rectifiers etc.
- Product experience may cover - power conversion, independent power systems, high power/high current systems - KV/KW levels, BMS platforms etc.
- Experience in design for EMC, DFM/DFT considerations as well as design for volume manufacture.
- Experience using simulation tools for power / frequency / integrity / thermal assessments (MATLAB/Simulink, Simplorer, LTSpice, Maxwell, etc.).
- Engineering degree
