We have an opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic Utilities Operator to join our team at our Whirinaki mill site north of Napier.

**About the role**

Working in our Pulp business, our Utilities team work with a customer focus on a 24/7 basis, managing and operating a modern thermal generation plant alongside a steam turbine, fresh water and wastewater treatment plants.

As the Utilities Operator you'll work independently as the key person on shift responsible for the operation and monitoring of our water demineralization plant, site water supply and 3 stage Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant to ensure we meet our Resource consent conditions. You'll work closely with the Boiler Operator, supporting them in the operation of the two wood waste boilers and steam turbine. In addition, you will also work outside on plant testing and monitoring to ensure efficient plant operation.

The role provides opportunity to develop into a Boiler Operator which will be supported by relevant on the job and formal training.

**About you**

We're looking for someone who has proven experience in the operation of water and waste water treatment plants (WWTP) using SCADA systems. Team culture is important to us so you must have sound judgment and a positive can-do attitude to get the job done. You'll be well versed in Health and safety processes and champion a safe working environment. Your sound mechanical aptitude, strong analytical skills and proactive nature will set you up for success.

Underpinning this will be your ENCHEM level 2 qualification or equivalent, along with a qualification in WWTP (preferred but not essential). You must also have a strong focus on process control and improvement.

This is a shift position (12 hours per shift) working Monday to Sunday on a 365 days per year roster.- At Pan Pac Forest Products our highest priority is the safety and welfare of our people including contractors and visitors.
