This role is based in Ellersie where their head office is, but you will also be required to travel to their other sites at times. There will also be flexibility to work from home when you are not needed to be onsite.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing timely, high-quality practical, and operational HR advice and support to our people leaders (including Site and Regional Manager teams) in accordance with company policy, best practice, and relevant NZ legislation with a particular focus on ER casework. They are looking for someone that can start ASAP

**The role, in a nutshell**:
As Senior HR Advisor, some of your key areas of responsibility will include:

- Work in partnership with the Employee Relations (ER) team to ensure managers are supported to work through ER issues
- Ensure compliance with the clients HR policy and procedures, and legal requirements by helping management understand their HR risks and how to effectively manage them
- Interpret policy and procedures consistently and objectively
- Coach and advise managers through formal performance improvement processes and management of all disciplinary processes, driving all matters through to conclusion including ensuring investigations are thorough and documentation is complete.
- Improve HR understanding and lift the capability of HR Advisory staff and those who manage people through coaching, advice, and support that adds learning and value
- Support and attend regional leadership team meetings to respond to and address regional or site people matters
- Work collaboratively with other members of the team to provide high-level HR support to people leaders and employees and to share information and support the implementation, delivery, and monitoring of key projects and workforce plans
- Effectively manage risks, escalating and proposing appropriate mitigation where necessary

**To be successful in this role**:

- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline or relevant experience
- Excellent communication and outstanding people skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines
- Updated knowledge of employment legislation
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages to an intermediate level
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and use initiative
- Strong interpersonal skills - the ability to build effective working relationships with a broad range of people
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people from a wide cross-section of the community
- Either permanent residency or NZ citizenship
