Waitakere, New Zealand Te Whānau o Waipareira Full time

**Bring your heart to the mahi. Join a kaupapa that backs whānau every step of the way.**

**Te Whānau o Waipareira** is on the lookout for committed, compassionate **Kaitūhono Kaimahi** to support our weekend shifts across two essential 24/7 residential services - our māmā and pēpi home and our rangatahi wahine home. These roles are deeply rooted in manaakitanga, whanaungatanga and aroha.

As a Kaitūhono Kaimahi, you’ll be hands-on in the home, helping maintain a safe, structured, and culturally grounded environment. Whether supporting a young māmā with her pēpi, or walking alongside a rangatahi as she reconnects with whānau, learning, or wellbeing—your presence will be felt and valued.

**Ngā Haora Mahi - Shift Options (Weekend Roster)**:

- Saturday: 6:00am - 6:30pm
- Saturday: 6:00pm - Sunday 6:30am
- Sunday: 6:00am - 6:30pm
- Sunday: 6:00pm - Monday 6:30am

You can express interest in one or multiple shifts depending on your availability and preferences.

**Ngā kawenga | What You’ll Be Doing**
- Building trust and offering guidance through whanaungatanga
- Supporting access to appointments, services, and entitlements
- Teaching life skills like cooking, budgeting, and routines
- Encouraging positive behaviour and role-modelling resilience
- Documenting progress, plans, and meaningful shifts for whānau
- Supporting engagement in cultural, creative, and learning programmes

You’ll also work closely with our wider Kōrure Whānau team and external providers to wrap services around each whānau unit, ensuring support is integrated, respectful, and timely.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | What You’ll Bring**
- A strong commitment to Te Reo me ngā Tikanga Māori
- At least **2 years'** experience supporting whānau or rangatahi
- Confidence to hold safe spaces, manage challenging moments, and work autonomously overnight
- A relevant qualification in Whānau Ora, Health, Social Work or similar (or working towards one)
- Great communication and record-keeping skills
- A full, clean **NZ Driver Licence**:

- Registration with a professional body is a bonus

**He aha ai mātou? | Why Us?**

At Waipareira, you join more than a job. You enter a movement. We do things differently at the Whānau House in West Auckland, guided by the values of Te Kauhau Ora o Waipareira. Here’s what we offer:
