**About the role | He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Whanau Support Facilitator to join the midlands team on a permanent full time basis (**40** hours a week**).

You'll be a natural communicator with a real drive to connect, promote and engage across a number of different stakeholders. You'll get a kick out of listening and understanding people with a solution focused approach.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Building and maintaining an engaged, cohesive and high performing team across the services you lead
- Leading and developing your team, ensuring that Talent Management and Succession Planning for critical positions is actively managed
- Working closely with the Recruitment Team to hire staff, including facilitating interviews
- Meeting with the person we support and their family/whanau to understand their life, ambitions, and expectations of their support and services to be provided
- Good comprehension and writing skills, previous knowledge of writing Personal Care Plans preferred
- Working with HR with any staffing issues, resolving pay queries and processing of timesheets in a timely manner
- Understanding of EGL (Enabling Good Lives) principles and how we incorporate that into our service delivery and the requirements of the people we support
- Negotiating the details of the support plan - the who, what, where how and why - with the person we support and their family/whanau in a way that balances the organisation's constraints with the requirements and expectations of the person we support
- Working collaboratively with the Service Centre to ensure rostering requirements from the Support Plan(s), including capability required, meets the needs of each person we support and their family/whanau
- Travelling required every every 4-6 weeks to Hamilton/Taranaki to support other Service Facilitators

**What you will bring | Ngā tohungatanga mō tēnei tūranga**
- Minimum two years' within disability, mental health or education with a strong understanding of the sector
- Experience working with those who display challenging behaviour which includes intellectual disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder(FASD), etc.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt for different stakeholders
- Experience with CICL, Flexible Supports and EGL funding preferred
- Understanding and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment - where there are likely to be competing needs, while following processes and directives issued
- Impeccable time management and administrative abilities - with the ability to work autonomously when required
- A professional, passionate attitude and you value constant training, guidance and teamwork
- A full, clean NZ drivers license
