The oncology service provides holistic specialist nurse assessment, care and education to patients and whanau diagnosed with cancer.

As a Health Care Assistant you will be part of our dedicated nursing environment with full support. Your role is to work within the team to assist nursing staff in care delivery, one-to-one patient watches and other tasks as directed.

Every day is different, and our nursing team enjoys the variety and the people they interact with. The role provides the challenge of giving each patient the best possible customer experience, whilst ensuring that everything runs to schedule.

The 40 hours a fortnight will be worked between the hours of 9.00AM and 5.00PM, Monday to Friday. Actual hours of work will be agreed between the hiring manager and the appointee.

You will be an enthusiastic and friendly person with the ability to get on with a wide variety of people. You will have great communication and organisational skills and will enjoy helping people. You will also be able to work in a flexible manner, demonstrating honesty and reliability.

Experience within the health sector is required.

**Qualifications**
- Essential_
- Year 11 NCEA level 1 English (or equivalent)
- Year 11 NCEA level 1 Maths (or equivalent)
- Desirable_
- Home Carer Certificate (or equivalent)
- Mandatory requirement_
- NZQA Level 3: New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Health Assistance Strand, _if not previously obtained_, _is_ _to be commenced once orientations have been attended._
