Te Puni Kōkiri is the government's principal policy advisor on Māori wellbeing and development. We achieve strategic influence with a focus on providing high quality policy advice and holding other agencies to account for delivering public services to, for, and with Māori. This includes our mandate to promote Māori achievement in education, training, health and economic resource development along with performing our monitoring and mentoring roles.
**Te whai wāhitanga | The opportunity**
We have an exciting opportunity for a 2x Senior Advisors to contribute and lead the development of the Whole of Crown System Report on Treaty Settlements. You will work closely with stakeholders within and outside the Ministry, gather insights and provide advice on effective service delivery pertaining to Treaty Settlements.
The Senior Advisor roles are six-month Fixed Term positions to support the development of the second iteration of the Whole of Crown System Report. It is anticipated that this iteration is completed in 6 months' time which enables the Ministry to move to the next phase of the work programme.
The likely appointment range is $104,317 (90%) - $125,180 (110%) gross per annum
**Mōu | About you**
You will have:
- A high standard of written and verbal communication.
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and critical reasoning skills
- Proven knowledge of evaluative methods, monitoring and assurance
- Strong relationship management skills to quickly build and maintain relationships within and outside Te Puni Kōkiri
- Broad understanding of Te Tiriti ō Waitangi and recognise the importance of the Treaty from both Māori and Crown perspectives.
- Comfortable in a te ao Māori environment and are comfortable in situations where tikanga is observed.
- Having a working knowledge and awareness of compliance obligations in respect of the Official Information Act 1982(OIA) that includes compiling and processing responses to OIA requests
