Te Puni Kōkiri is the government's principal policy advisor on Māori wellbeing and development. We achieve strategic influence with a focus on providing high quality policy advice and holding other agencies to account for delivering public services to, for, and with Māori. This includes our mandate to promote Māori achievement in education, training, health and economic resource development along with performing our monitoring and mentoring roles.

**Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity**

You will be joining a passionate team of 3x Portfolio Leads, 2x Advisors and the Manager, Statutory Entities & Appointments who are dedicated to contributing to the Ministry's success.

The Statutory Entities & Appointments team provides oversight and monitoring of Crown and Statutory Entities on behalf of the Minister for Māori Development. The team's work has a focus on performance and governance and is delivered through three portfolio workstreams: Appointments, Nominations and Secretariat services and Performance Monitoring.

Reporting to the Manager, Statutory Entities & Appointments, the Senior Advisors will work as part of the team across the three portfolio workstreams. This role will focus on:

- Playing a key role in the Ministry's secretariat service functions
- Take a lead on some workstream deliverables and support the Portfolio Leads on significant outputs
- Supporting kaimahi with best practice governance activity and engagement.
- Supporting the team with monitoring, contract management and reporting/ accountability associated with Māori Wardens as well as other entities

The likely appointment range for this role is $104,317 (90%) to $115,907 (100%).

- Understanding the relevance of the Treaty of Waitangi and Te Tiriti o Waitangi to the work being undertaken.
