As well as emergency paramedic care, we provide patient transfer services; have paramedics who are part of the Life Flight crew and rescue squad, plus operate the 111 clinical communications centre for our region. We consider ourselves to be the best little ambulance service in the world, with an awesome team around 400 staff and over 80 volunteers who cover from Cook Strait to just north of Waikanae on the Kapiti Coast, and across to Mt Bruce in the Wairarapa. The role
We are expanding our Health, Safety and Wellness team and are seeking an experienced Health Safety and Wellness Advisor to help deliver the WFA health, safety and wellness programmes and initiatives.
This newly created position involves working in partnership with our people to ensure that health and safety is integrated into WFA’s systems, processes and practices to ensure they are effective and safe for our people in their day to day work..
As well as providing expert information and advice on health, safety and wellness matters, this unique opportunity sees you being able to leverage both your policy knowledge and experience, combined with your frontline experience as part of your everyday work.

**Skills and Experiences**:
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Health Safety and Wellness Adviser to join our team and provide advice and support that enables our operational staff to deliver emergency paramedicine services and clinical expertise to our communities.
Your influencing skills are a strength as you will be working closely, and regularly, with our people on the frontline.
With this is mind, you will also have impeccable relationship management skills and the ability to maintain a wide range of relationships within and outside of WFA.
We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Adviser, ideally with 3-4 years’ of experience and a relevant Health and Safety qualification.
It will also be an advantage if you have experience in advising people at all levels of a complex organisation.
COVID-19 vaccination WFA’s COVID-19 risk assessment has determined that we require all staff to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 prior to commencing work with WFA. It remains a condition of your ongoing employment to maintain your vaccination status, which may include booster or additional vaccinations as required. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required as part of the recruitment process.
