Mō te tūranga | About the roleThe Mental Health Day Activity Centres (MHDAC), provide a day activity service for people with mental health disabilities. MHDAC work from integrated models of care including the Recovery Model, Let's Get Real and the Strengths and Empowerment philosophies. In partnership with service users, staff are responsible for encouraging and supporting them to participate in planning the monthly programme and carrying out of day to day activities. Activities are broad ranging and very dependent on the needs of the service users accessing the MHDAC.

**Mōu ake | About youEssential**: Possess a Mental Health Support Workers Certificate/Diploma and/or relevant tertiary qualification and/or have had suitable training/experience in Mental Health.
Possess First Aid Certificate.Group facilitation experienceA high level of interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work a weekend day if requiredSome previous human resource management experience preferablePrevious experience being involved with Managing and coordinating a teamExperience with project planning and coordinating and implementing review recommendationsWorking within an activity and skill development frameworkPossess a good understanding of cultural considerations for Maori esp. the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and Equity for Maori.Experience working in a community setting with the ability to be able to network well and evolve and maintain good relationships with other service providers.Be involved in planning and leading activities. These may include health and fitness type activities.Have a driver's license and be confident in driving a van with passengers.Additional hours may be required on occasions dependant on demand and workload

Utu whānui |Salary rangeThis role belongs to the PSA/DHBs Allied, Public Health and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($51, 820 p.a pro rata) and Step 5 ($62,154 p.a pro rata) of the Allied, Public Health and Technical scale.
