Aquatic Supervisor

Our Recreation, Sports and Events teams are hiring now for Aquatic Supervisors at Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre, our newest facility, and Graham Condon Recreation and Sport Centre._ Opportunities are now available for multiple positions. **About the role | Ko te mahi nei** As an Aquatic Supervisor, you'll play a key part in delivering a safe, high-quality, and engaging aquatic experiences for our community. You will also: - Work closely with the Team Leader and Senior Supervisor to support and lead the lifeguard team - Ensure operational excellence, and help create a welcoming environment for all facility users. - From overseeing daily poolside operations and responding to emergencies, to mentoring staff and maintaining Poolsafe standards, your leadership will help us achieve our goal of getting "more people, more active, more often." - In preparation for the opening of Parakiore, you will take part in group inductions, team-building activities, and training sessions designed to introduce you to your role and our vision for the facility. Following this, you may also be involved in contributing ideas and assisting with the development of operational policies. This means that you may be required to work at different locations and outside of the advertised shift times until Parakiore opens. **About you | Ko Koe Tēnei** Our ideal applicant will: - Be a confident leader with at least 18 months' experience in an aquatic environment and a passion for keeping people safe. - You'll be calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and thrive in a team setting. - Have excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering top-tier customer service, you bring a proactive approach to supervision and problem-solving. - Ideally, you hold current lifeguard, first aid, and water treatment certifications—or are ready to get them. Lifeguard hours are paid at the rate of $27.80 - ** Please note**: A standard swim test will be required following the interview as part of the recruitment process for this role.
