Te Papa stands proud as an iconic national building housing the treasures of our nation and is a vibrant destination for both national and international visitors.

As we prepare for the high season, we are now looking for retail stars to join our busy Te Papa Store on Cable Street to work on a Casual, as required basis. You will be a person who understands how retail supports our visitor experience by providing opportunity for our visitors to take home a memento of Te Papa or New Zealand, or purchase a unique gift for someone special, and you will enjoy interacting with customers to find out which product will best suit their needs.

**Ideally you will have**:

- Previous experience in a retail environment, ideally from a tourist or gift shop background
- A passion for customer service and ensuring every interaction is professional, helpful and proactive
- A desire to learn about all of our products and their associated stories
- Flexible availability to work over a 7-day roster as we operate 364 days a year
- Applicants must be available to work casual shifts as rostered over the Monday to Sunday period
- Weekend availability is essential
- Previous cashiering experience
- An understanding of Te Ao Maori and Taonga is advantageous

The hourly rate for this position will be $27.80ph (pro-rated to hours worked) as a minimum.
