Established in 1928 with one Chevrolet truck, Sollys has grown to become a major multi-faceted organisation working in the freight, bulk cartage, storage, fertiliser, aggregate and contracting industries.
From their Takaka head office, they operate throughout the country with regional depots in Collingwood, Richmond, Blenheim and Christchurch and directly employ 140 people. Their fleet is now over 100 trucks, and they also own and operate numerous other high-tech plant and machinery.
Sollys is seeking a high performing Contracting Operations Manager to provide day-to-day operational and administrative management of their Contracting Team. Splitting your time between the Takaka Head office & at the Golden Bay Dolomite quarry located at Mt Burnett near Collingwood you will oversee all commercial aspects of the civil contracting process ensuring budgets, timelines, quality, technical standards and customer expectations are met.
Commercially astute with proven leadership skills and a down to earth, hands-on approach you will have the ability to bring out the best in your people and foster strong subcontractor and client relationships.
With proven contracting experience, potentially as a senior operator, you’ll have a strong understanding of managing civil works projects, a sound knowledge of and commitment to industry legislative requirements and Council processes. Previous Quarry experience would be a benefit.
