At Manatū Hauora - Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance. We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters. The Strategy and Policy team supports Te Pou Hauora Māori | The Māori Health Directorate to be the principal policy advisor to government for Māori health matters. Te Pou Hauora Māori leads the Ministry's kaitiaki | stewardship role to ensure the Ministry is meeting its obligations to Māori under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Ko tōu ake mahi | What You'll Do
We are currently recruiting for a Principal Advisor within our Te Pou Hauora Māori | The Māori Health Directorate.
In this role you will play a key leadership role in the delivery of Māori health, ensuring all work reflects our responsibilities to meet Treaty of Waitangi obligations and the priority of equity. You will use your quantitative and qualitative analytical and insights skills to contribute to the development and delivery of quality advice to improve health outcomes for Māori.

Deep commitment to improving equity of health and wellbeing outcomes for Māori
Proven thought leadership and senior analytical expertise, including the use of analytical tools such as SAS or R
Sound analytical experience and skills with an ability to work with real world data and information
Strong relationship management skills and experience in engaging with a range of sector groups and agencies
Previous experience working in central government and a thorough understanding of the machinery of Government
