**The Opportunity**:
The Braemar Hospital team are excited to recruit a new Health Care Assistant to join the team working in our in-patient ward.

Working as part of our inpatient ward team, the Health Care Assistant role is a critical member of the team, assisting with patient activities under the supervision of our highly skilled Registered Nurses. This includes a variety of responsibilities from helping our patients with meals, assisting with patient activities and personal care, to collecting blood products from the Blood Bank, to general housekeeping, and everything in between. This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate and dedicated team delivering the highest standards of care.

To be successful in this role:

- You will have previous experience in a Health Care Assistant or similar role, where you are comfortable taking directions from others and contributing positively to the team culture;
- You will ideally understand the hospital environment and demonstrate a willingness to work across a variety of tasks;
- Remaining calm and collected in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment is something you will thrive on;
- A key member of this team will have a positive disposition and a solutions-focused approach;
- You will possess a can-do attitude, and a strong customer service ethos to ensure excellent customer service to both patients and specialists;
- A NZQA Health Care Assistant Programme Certificate is essential;
- CPR/First Aid Certificate (or a willingness to participate in training to achieve certification);
- A current driver’s licence is needed.
- You must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
