At First Mortgage Investment Limited, we’re looking for a dynamic **Economic Analyst** to join our team and play a critical role in driving our growth in the mortgage industry.
**What You’ll Do**
As an Economic Analyst, you will:
- Analyse housing market trends, including property values, demand, and supply.
- Track and interpret macroeconomic indicators such as interest rates, inflation, employment, GDP, and assess their impact on the mortgage market.
- Monitor competitors’ strategies, products, and market positioning.
- Develop economic models to forecast interest rate movements and housing market dynamics.
- Predict customer behaviour patterns, including loan defaults or refinancing trends.
- Provide actionable insights based on future economic scenarios.
- Identify and evaluate risks related to loan defaults, market downturns, or regulatory changes.
- Recommend strategies to mitigate economic risks and maintain portfolio health.
- Collaborate with other team members to design mortgage products tailored to market needs.
- Advise on pricing strategies and loan structuring based on economic data.
- Analyse the impact of regulatory changes, government policies, and monetary policies on the mortgage industry.
- Ensure the company remains compliant with industry regulations and leverages policy opportunities.
- Prepare detailed economic reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal stakeholders, investors, and clients.
- Provide insights and recommendations during strategy meetings and management briefings.
- Educate clients and partners on market trends to enhance decision-making.
**What We’re Looking For**
- At least a Master's degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field OR
- At least 3+ years of experience in economic analysis, preferably in financial services or real estate.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Python, R, Stata, etc.).
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of housing markets, mortgage trends, and regulatory frameworks.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to translate complex data into clear recommendations.
