We’re now looking for a **Assistant Accountant** to join our close-knit team. This is a key role, combining accounting and cost controlwhere you’ll have the opportunity to work **independently, take ownership, and shape your own workflow**. You’ll also get the chance to **travel across New Zealand** as we support our clients on-site.

**Key responsibilities**
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and client quotes for technology, automation, and software projects.
- Work closely with sales and project managers to ensure proposals are profitable and competitive.
- Monitor project costs against budgets, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Review supplier and subcontractor costs, ensuring alignment with approved budgets.
- Provide regular cost reports and forecasts to management.
- Contribute to developing pricing models and improving internal quoting processes.
- You will be reporting to our General Manager

**About you**
- Be trusted to **work independently and create your own workflow**, we value autonomy.
- 2-4 years’ experience in **project finance or commercial analysis**.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with high attention to detail.
- Confident with Excel and/or ERP/project costing tools.
- Able to prepare and present financial information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a small team where everyone’s input counts.
- Willingness to travel within New Zealand & overseas to support projects and client work.
- Experience in tech, construction, hospitality, or a project-based industry (preferred, but not essential).
